Death Sight: Activate!

okay so it's not exactly a 'sight' but. HI ARE YOU DEAD/HAVE BEEN DEAD/DIED IN CAMP/DEATH IS YOUR FATHER???? Nico can sense anything death-related to the soul etc. so… I just need to know so Nico can properly glare at you once he picks it up. you're messing up the order of things stop it

He can only sense mortal souls, but it's up to you if this only pertains to human souls or not. MORTAL NON-HUMANS WHAT IS GOING ON It'd confuse Nico, that's for sure! If you don't want Nico sensing these things with your character COMMENT TOO it's cool

tl;dr if you're dead or have died or have deathsoul things or the grim reaper resides in your eyeballs, whispers come to me

oh, Persona. in PJO, the Roman and Greek monsters, gods, and spirits are around, alive and well. i'm sure Nico's met Orpheus, too, since he's in the Underworld a lot. son of Hades right here. so as far as sensing things, he'll only be able to pick up Orpheus, Thanatos, and probably the Fates, since they generally stay in the Underworld. depending on how Ares works in Persona, maybe him too? in Percy Jackson, Ares gives off this anger aura that just makes you wanna punch things whenever he's around. if that's a thing in Persona too, he'll be like "Hm." Otherwise, nah.

the things from other folklore won't hit any of Nico's pings.

i am so amused though, holy shit. Nico may geek out if he finds out Makoto has all these dudes, just a fair warning.

Dunno how much of Ares he'd sense. In P3, Ares is a minor Persona of the Chariot Arcana, only level 19. It's dinky and it sucks. The Fate Sisters are more powerful Personas of the Fortune Arcana, but aren't any more important to Makoto than Ares is. However, they can be fused together to create Norn, an amalgamation of the Norse Fate goddesses and the Ultimate Persona of the Fortune Arcana. Again, Persona is wacky like that.

Orpheus is Makoto's Initial Persona, so it's his very first Persona as well as the one that closest to him. Thanatos is, essentially, the bit of power that Death left inside Makoto when he left his body, as well as the manifestation of their bond and the Ultimate Persona of the Death Arcana.

Just FYI, Makoto has approximately 170 Personas total.

Oh, also, he has at least four dragons.

wow, that is super confusing. it's cool that you can keep all that straight, though. i won't have Nico sense Ares, then.

and wow, that is...a lot of Personas from a lot of different mythologies. i'm just picturing him keeping them all in pokeballs. and DRAGONS!!!!

clearly we need to bond with both my boys.

They're all in his head.

He summons them by shooting himself in the head.

(Also I have an intro post running if you them want to meet him.)

Personas are manifestations of the psyche and are drawn from the Collective Unconscious of humanity. In Persona, gods and demons are given shape through human will. Erebus, for instance, is the manifestation of humanity's combined malice and despair, and most gods reside within the Collective Unconscious, so they're probably quite a bit different from the gods in the Percy Jackson series.

Persona 3 is for the Playstation 2, and there's an updated re-release on the same system called Persona 3 FES.

There's also a port on the PSP called Persona 3 Portable.

The first Persona received a rather shoddy localization and was released on the SNES and Playstation. There was an improved re-release on the PSP.

Persona 2 is technically two games, Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment. Both were released for the Playstation and later re-released on the PSP. Only localizations for the PSP version of Innocent Sin and the PSOne version of Eternal Punishment exist, though there's a fan-translation for Innocent Sin's PSOne version on the internet.

Persona 4 was originally released for the PS2, and an updated re-release exists on the PS Vita.
