okay so it's not exactly a 'sight' but. HI ARE YOU DEAD/HAVE BEEN DEAD/DIED IN CAMP/DEATH IS YOUR FATHER???? Nico can sense anything death-related to the soul etc. so… I just need to know so Nico can properly glare at you once he picks it up. you're messing up the order of things stop it

He can only sense mortal souls, but it's up to you if this only pertains to human souls or not. MORTAL NON-HUMANS WHAT IS GOING ON It'd confuse Nico, that's for sure! If you don't want Nico sensing these things with your character COMMENT TOO it's cool

tl;dr if you're dead or have died or have deathsoul things or the grim reaper resides in your eyeballs, whispers come to me

Ryner is the latest incarnation of a demon/god/insanely powerful thing who has reincarnated as a human thousands of billions of times and therefore died thousands of billions of times. Except he was born human (with magic eyes) and only had the reincarnation thing implanted in him later IT'S COMPLICATED so I don't know how that meshes with your stuff but. Feel free to sense whatever you'd like, and if you want more clarification I can try.

...There was also one time where he may or may not have died and come back to life in this incarnation too I'm... not actually sure about whether he died the full way or not there...

Your canon sounds.......confusing. That definitely works for me, reincarnation is a big thing in the Underworld, though not everyone does it, it's just well-known. Death and vague-Underworld pings, check. Haha and at this point, one more death isn't gonna make a difference for Nico. Wow, that's messed up...

Did Ryner reincarnate naturally, or was it one of those dastardly villain things where he was forced or something?

As for your question... usually it's natural. This time not so much, but I wouldn't exactly consider it a dastardly villainous thing...? If you don't mind spoilers, the Demon would have found a vessel to incarnate in eventually. Ryner was born with the potential to become that vessel but not that vessel specifically. This had the side effect of making it extremely likely that he would go insane, kill everything around him, and die before he reached adulthood, so his genius mage father went mad and kind of broke the world in order to implant half the Demon in him in order to change that destiny and give him a chance to live. Currently, the Demon and Ryner the Human are technically two separate souls, though the Demon is slowly being assimilated into Ryner and has been for some time. (...and there's also two other beings in his head but neither of them is technically dead so...) Like I said, it's kind of a mess. ^^;

So yes forced (though it would have happened to someone anyway and he had that potential to be that someone from the start), but not villainous or anything.

so even though it was kinda Meant To Be, Nico's definitely gonna sense that Ryner is Fucked Up. he's gonna have plenty of chances to learn what these demon pings mean, isn't he.
